The Dallas Zoning Reform effort is being led by the City of Dallas, with assistance from a consultant team that blends national experience and local expertise. This update will help turn the community's vision from Forward Dallas into reality through clearer, more effective development rules.
Camiros, lead consultant, is an urban planning firm providing a full range of services in the areas of zoning, planning, urban design, and economic development. Based in Chicago, the firm has worked with a diverse mix of communities ranging from small towns to large metropolitan areas and counties, including: Knoxville, Spring Hill, and Maryville, Tennessee; Charlotte, North Carolina; Pittsburgh and Tredyffrin Township, Pennsylvania; New Orleans, Jefferson Parish, and Shreveport, Louisiana; Buffalo, Saratoga Springs, Rochester, and Rome, New York; Baltimore, Maryland; Providence, Rhode Island; Cleveland Heights, Ohio; Davenport, Iowa; and numerous Chicago-area communities.
Utile is a planning and architecture firm with offices in Boston, Massachusetts and Providence, Rhode Island. Utile will contribute valuable expertise in building and zoning codes specifically as they relate to urban design, housing, and land use patterns.
James Nias, land use attorney with Jackson Walker, will review and provide input on regulatory approaches as they relate to Texas state statutes.
